Product Owner / Project Manager

We're looking for a Product Owner with a passion to deliver amazing digital experiences. Does that sound like you? Keep on reading!

What you will do:

  • As a product owner, you will lead one or more product teams and bring out the best in your team members. You monitor priorities through a well-managed backlog.

  • As the main point of contact (SPOC) for your projects, you act as a link between the project team and all internal and external stakeholders. You provide timely reports and ensure that the right people are informed about the project status at the right time.

  • You keep a close eye on your projects using tools such as Jira and Confluence. You maintain an overview of the different Jira boards, make adjustments when needed, and use them as a basis for status meetings and standups.

  • You organize and plan the various scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint plannings, sprint demos, retrospectives, etc.) with the project team.

  • You look beyond day-to-day operations and gather the necessary information to create long-term plannings and roadmaps.

  • When necessary, you dive deep into the details and write functional analyses and user stories yourself.

  • By using the appropriate ceremonies, you ensure that business, strategy, experience, and development are perfectly aligned, and assumptions are clarified and addressed.

  • You identify risks in a timely manner and proactively mitigate them where necessary.

What we expect from you:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing digital product/project teams within an agile/scrum environment.

  • You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and can build a relationship of trust with the client. In order to accomplish this, you are willing to work on-site at/with the client at regular intervals when needed.

  • You have an agile mindset, but you are aware that it is a methodology, not a mantra. A well-functioning team and satisfied client are more important than strictly following Scrum by the book.

  • You understand how digital products and apps are built. We don't expect you to have developer skills, but rather a high-level technical affinity: you know the difference between front-end and back-end and the roles (UX & UI designers, developers, etc.) needed in your product team to successfully deliver products.

  • You have a can-do mentality - cliché but necessary. You think in terms of solutions rather than problems, thrive on unraveling complex issues, and can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Additionally, you never lose sight of the bigger picture.

  • You think critically and motivate stakeholders and product teams to always give their best.

  • You are capable of creating functional analyses and user stories yourself.

  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.

  • You are resilient to stress, able to turn chaos into order, and relieve the product team of any burden or impediment.

  • You can handle the classic "scope, timing, budget" triangle.

Bonus points:

  • You have experience in business analysis.

  • You speak French.

  • You have experience working with/for clients at an enterprise level.

  • You have a technical or UX background.
