Solution Architect

About the job:

As a Solution Architect at Craftzing, you are the bridge between business ambition and technical reality. You think along with business stakeholders, but above all you translate their needs into concrete technical solution designs and refine them together with application specialists.

What sets you apart is your independence. You stay technology- and vendor-agnostic, and you see the whole landscape instead of a single vendor's corner of it. You combine deep technical expertise with a consulting mindset: you think long-term, make decisive choices, and explain the why behind them to everyone from engineers to C-level.


What you’ll do:

  • Think along with business stakeholders to understand their goals, challenges and constraints.

  • Translate business and functional requirements into clear, end-to-end technical solution designs and architecture schemas.

  • Refine those designs together with application specialists into concrete, plannable work.

  • Zoom out to see the bigger picture and make architecture decisions in the client's best interest, independent of any single vendor.

  • Judge when to engage a specific platform or vendor and when to step back and run a market evaluation (build vs. buy, selecting the right system for the need).

  • Make and document architecture decisions, balancing scalability, security, performance and cost.

  • Design API-driven and integration approaches across applications, services and third-party systems.

  • Safeguard non-functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Translate complex technical topics into clear language for business and C-level stakeholders.

  • Identify technical risks and dependencies early, and propose pragmatic mitigations.

Who we're looking for:

  • A strong architect with sharp execution skills and a healthy dose of pragmatism.

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering and/or architecture, with a solid track record in a solution or technical architect role.

  • Technology- and vendor-agnostic by instinct: broad familiarity across the landscape (CRM, ERP, data platforms, cloud providers, integration) without being tied to a single vendor.

  • Able to zoom out, weigh build vs. buy, and run a market evaluation when the situation calls for it.

  • Strong command of integration patterns and API-driven architecture.

  • Able to think along with business stakeholders and refine solutions with application specialists into plannable work.

  • Excellent communication skills: you can hold the attention of C-level stakeholders and unite teams around a shared technical direction.

  • Familiarity with scrum and working in an agile environment.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English. French is a plus.
