Surround yourself with a group of driven digital experts who are committed to focus on what matters and believe you get better results through working together.
UX Architect (Freelance)
Craftzing is looking for a UX Architect who gets energy from turning complexity into clarity. Someone who doesn’t just design screens, but helps shape how digital experiences actually work across systems, journeys and touchpoints. In this role, you step into the messy middle where ideas, constraints and ambitions meet, and you help teams zoom out, make sense of it all, and translate it into experience structures that hold up in real life.
Do you enjoy connecting the dots others don’t see yet, bringing structure to ambiguity, and turning abstract thinking into something concrete teams can build on? Do you like working closely with clients, challenging thinking when needed, and shaping digital experiences end to end? If that sounds like you, you’ll probably feel at home here.
You believe that great digital products don’t start with screens, but with structure. They start with clarity on how experiences should behave, connect and evolve across every touchpoint. Because when that foundation is right, everything else becomes easier: design, development and decision making.
That is exactly where you come in!
As a UX Architect, you work across service design, UX strategy and interaction design. But your focus goes far beyond execution. You bring structure to complexity and turn fragmented ideas into coherent experience systems that teams can actually build on. In practice, you are often the person who zooms out when others are zoomed in. You connect the dots across the full product ecosystem and translate that complexity into clear experience frameworks that create alignment and direction.
In client projects, you become a trusted partner. Someone who helps teams move from assumptions to clarity, and from complexity to direction. You work with organizations ranging from Flemish government agencies to fast growing tech companies.
What you’ll do:
Experience strategy & architecture
Define and validate experience architectures for complex, multi touchpoint digital products and services
Translate strategic questions into structured UX direction such as flows, systems, principles and information architecture
Challenge assumptions together with stakeholders through workshops, audits and discovery sessions
Identify structural UX problems across the full experience and turn them into clear direction
Help teams understand not only what to build, but how everything connects into one coherent system
Concept design & prototyping
Use prototyping as a thinking tool rather than just a deliverable
Move from early conceptual ideas to interactive prototypes that make direction tangible and help teams align
Validate assumptions early with users and stakeholders to reduce uncertainty before decisions are locked in
Use prototypes to create alignment across teams and support decision making
Shift fluidly between exploration and refinement depending on what the challenge requires
Collaboration & facilitation
Collaborate closely with UI designers, engineers and solution architects to bring experience thinking into real products
Facilitate workshops and conversations that help teams move forward in complex or ambiguous contexts
Challenge direction when needed, always with the goal of improving the experience
Align multiple perspectives into one shared vision instead of fragmented solutions
Who we’re looking for:
5+ years of experience in UX or experience design, with strong systems thinking rather than pure execution
You naturally think in flows, structures and end to end experiences instead of isolated screens
Strong conceptual UX and experience architecture skills
Comfortable working in complex, ambiguous environments where not everything is defined upfront
Strong communication skills with stakeholders, including senior decision makers
Experience in multi stakeholder environments such as enterprise or government projects
Curious about AI assisted design workflows and open to integrating them into your practice
Not afraid to challenge requirements when it improves the outcome
Willing to work on site with clients up to 2 days per week
